Day 26: My husband's Bacon, Brie, and Croissant Burgers

I'm blessed because my husband is an incredible cook. The man can come up with creations without looking at a recipe and just by working off of what feels right. I WISH I had his creativity because the things he creates are absolutely mouth watering.
This week has been a crazy one starting a new job, working at my old job, and trying to keep up with the house. It was really hard for me to stay on top of cooking and cleaning and my amazing husband really picked up the slack this week and helped me out.
Any time my husband gets in the kitchen, I know I'll be eating well so when he told me he was cooking tonight, I was all about it! He made sirloin burgers with bacon, brie, and toasted almonds on a croissant roll- it was ridiculous! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

*Ingredients
16 oz pack of ground sirloin
1/2 wheel Brie
1 small pack Bacon
1/2 cup Almond slivers
1 pack croissant rolls tube
salt/pepper
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2 TBS honey

*Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Chop your bacon into small pieces, then cook bacon on medium heat in a frying pan. Once your bacon is cooked, let bacon cool on some paper towels and reserve grease on the side. In that same frying pan, add a TBS of your bacon grease and add your almond slivers. Toast your slivers until they just start to brown.
Open tube of croissants and bake for packaged time and start forming your 4 balls from your ground sirloin. Season with salt, pepper, onion, and garlic powder. Place balls on preheated skillet for 20 seconds then press down on the ball once to flatten it and cook for 30 more seconds. Flip patty on to the other side and cook 60 seconds. Once flipped cook patties for 5-6 minutes, depending on your preference.
When you patties are done, pull them out of the oven and top with bacon, almond, brie and drizzle with honey. When your patties have been melted and croissants are done, cut burger patties in half and cut your croissant like a burger bun to fit your patty in it. The end result is delicious, the pillowiness from the croissant and the crunch from the almonds plays so well together and you can never go wrong with bacon!
